Gunsmith Work   Ammunition Reloads

We are closed on Sundays in honor of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We need a rest after a long work week, but true and lasting rest can only be found in Jesus Christ.

Due to the fact that the first man Adam disobeyed the command that God had given him, all of his descendants are born with an inherent flaw.  This flaw is called sin and is an inherent part of our nature which is a part of us at birth just as surely as our eyes and ears are a part of us.

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.  - Romans 3:23

This is why even if we do our very best to live a good life, we still sin.  God does not tolerate sin and will not accept man's efforts to work his way to heaven.  Even one sinful act is deserving of death.

For the wages of sin is death...  - Romans 6:23a

The problem though is not with the sinful acts, it is the sinful nature.  We are not sinners because we sin, but we sin because we are sinners.  Sinning is what we do because of the fact that we are sinners by nature, just as swimming is what fish do because they are swimmers by nature.  This is the bad news and is very hard to accept, since we want to be good and believe that we can overcome our sinfulness by good works.

There is good news though.  Romans 6:23 continues:

...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.  - Romans 6:23b

God provides a way out of the sin problem.  Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God and who is God, came to Earth to live a perfect life to fulfill the requirements of the Law and then to die in the place of sinners to pay the death penalty of sin for all who will receive the gift of salvation.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  - John 3:16

Sin is a capital crime against God and the sentence is the death penalty:  spending eternity in Hell.  The good news is that you do not have to carry out this sentence if you will receive the gift of salvation that God has freely offered.  There is no cost, Jesus has paid it all. All you have to do is accept the fact that you are a sinner and that there is nothing that you can do to save yourself and to believe that Jesus is God in the flesh, and that he died to pay your sin debt and was resurrected that you might be justified in the eyes of God.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.  For the Scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.  - Romans 10:9-11

We invite you to join us on Sunday morning at Emmanuel Baptist church to learn more about this wonderful Savior that we love and serve.
